Saved My Life! Best Book I've EVER
 Read on Fasting & Diet!!!
, February 27, 2002

Reviewer: Shelly Borsits (Rensselaer, IN United States) - See all my reviews

I was poisoned by the birth control shot depo provera. Immediately falling sick with symptoms I went back to the doctor. She told me no way was it the shot that was making me sick. She was concerned there was something wrong in my brain and from there I ended up at two different neurologists, a chiropractor, many nurse practitions, an ear nose and throat doctor and on and on. I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia. (...)

No doctor could cure me. They all gave me various drugs, which I took willing.. (foolish me!!) but not one of them cured me. They only further POISONED MY SYSTEM!

I was cured by one thing and one thing only! FASTING AND A MUCUS FREE DIET! I have researched fasting and diet for healing purposes extensively. My stack of books on the subjects stacks waist high. This is by far, hands down, the book I recommend the highest.

If you've read Fast Your Way To Health and/or The Miracle of Fasting, this one is even better!! A+++

I URGE you to read this book! If you apply what he teaches you will change your life. You WILL regain a greater health than you have ever known.

Disease, aging, and death are reversible chemical processes, June 6, 1999
Reviewer: A reader
Reading between the lines of this simple yet profound book tells us that aging is based on the progressive accumulation of nonfunctional matter within the confines of the body which ultimately obstructs organ function until a key organ fails and death ensures. The origin of the nonfunctional matter within the body is from diet. If the foods we eat are not completely digested down to simple sugars and amino acids, and these incompletely digested fragments are absorbed, they only serve to obstruct the body's internal mechanisms. Aging is based on the progressive accumulation of nonfunctional matter originating in diet. If we can eliminate more nonfunctional matter from the body on a day to day basis than is formed, we have in fact reversed the aging process. Nonfunctional matter is eliminated from the body through two surfaces: the skin by sweating and the entire lining of the alimentary canal from the mouth to the anus, in particular fhrough the surface of the colon from the goblet cells. The substance of Ehret's book is the same as that found in the HATHA YOGA PRADIPIKA which is a sanskrit text explaining the scientific basis of physical immortality. The key to making spiritual progress is the complete purification of the physical body. For the brain to function on a higher level the substance in the body that limits the electrical capacity of the brain must first be removed. The rest is then automatic.

Fasting is for Cleansing, Not for Everyday Life, October 11, 2005

What this book preaches is starvation, pure and simple. This is a very old book, wherein the author makes many unsubstantiated glowing statements, and unfortunately many people, including myself, were drawn into the craze of attempting to find the "superior health" that Ehret promised, only to be left with broken health because of having done so. My first introduction to the book came about 1963, although I did not really try to live Ehret's recommendations fully until about 1966. Being young and gullible I took everything Professor Ehret said as absolutely true. This was a big mistake. I believe this book came very close to killing me, as I am already prone to low-blood sugar, without starving myself.

This book and other fanatical ideas about eating were responsible for giving health consiousness a bad name when I was young, and I am concerned that even today there are those attempting to live the tenets of this book, who do their bodies a great harm, as well as ruin any chances of a normal social life.

A much better approach is a simple diet made up of fresh grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables, with a little seeds and nuts; and no refined food and no oil. You do not have to starve yourself to be healthy, and long-term starvation is not healthy by any standard. Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn and Dr. T. Colin Campbell are names you should research if you want the best information available about healthy eating, which is at the same time livable, leading not only to normal weight, but also normal cholesterol and clean blood vessels, as well as a much lower chance of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis and all other diseases of affluence.

Put another way, Ehret's book may do some good if the reader is not fanatical about it, and does not adhere to its tenets of near starvation for too long. There is nothing wrong with fasting, but fasting is for cleansing, not for everyday life.

Ahead of his time., May 16, 2005

The author, Arnold Ehret's theories on diet and Fasting where ahead of there time, and probably some of his theories still are.

The Mucusless Diet and it's many benefits are not only explained in great detail, but I admire the way the author was willing to put his theories to the test on himself. The book also explains a bit about Fasting, but the authors book "Rational Fasting" is a much better Fasting book.

Quite an interesting book and the price is right.

Thanks Arnold, February 26, 2003

In first reading I hade problems to digest and accept author ideas. I think that the most denying part was in my mind. Because of lack of other joys, it made wrong food us something very satisfying and needed. Medicine for different depressions formed in everyday life tasks. After "master cleanser" diet (fast), which was not so positive for me and reading book again I found my understanding to reach deeper levels of food story. This system is also body friendly and teaches to be sensitive with what is going on in you. Author is maybe a little too sure in his expositions, but anyway, this book is a definitive push for me in improving my living and health.
